If this has happened to you, you know how dismaying and depressing it can be.
The Monday after Thanksgiving, Verna was quietly watching TV at about 8:30 PM when she heard a loud crash and breaking glass. Not knowing if she was being shot at, she called the police, who to their credit did come in 10 minutes.
What had happened was that some proto-human pitched a large rock through her studio window. Besides the senseless stupidity and cowardice of the act, it will cost her $658 to get repaired.
This is the sort of thing that makes you reflect on just how close many human beings are to their reptilian ancestors.

Ever since the neighbor kid who we think did this went to prison for other crimes we haven’t had any more vandalism. Coincidence? Maybe.
